Can you tell us a little about your background before starting at your company?
Before founding OneVillage, I spent ten years as a venture capital investor at Revolution, Steve Case’s investment firm, and at ABS Capital. My work focused on companies at the intersection of technology, healthcare, and consumer engagement—so I had a front-row seat to how innovation can reshape major industries. But it wasn’t until I went through a series of personal health experiences myself and within my family that I truly understood how broken and fragmented the patient support system is. That combination of professional insight and personal motivation became the foundation for OneVillage.

How did you start at your company? What were the first steps you took to get it off the ground and how did you identify the need for your product/service in the market? 

I started OneVillage with a simple question: Why is it so hard to find the right practical support when life gets hard? Whether it’s navigating cancer, mental health, or caregiving, people are often left on their own to figure out logistics, insurance, and emotional care.

The first steps were all about listening—interviewing patients, caregivers, HR leaders, and health systems to understand what was missing. What became clear was that supportive care was the “missing layer” of healthcare: everything surrounding medical treatment that impacts outcomes but isn’t delivered by the traditional system. We built OneVillage to fill that gap, combining technology, human expertise, and compassion to make that support accessible and scalable.

What innovations or unique features set your company apart from others in the industry?

What sets OneVillage apart is our ability to unite AI-powered personalized care pathways with human-led expertise across more than 35 specialties—from insurance navigation and financial advocacy to clinical nutrition, menopause support, and beyond. What has been the most effective strategy for scaling your business?

Our growth has been fueled by partnerships—with benefit consultants, employers, health systems, and advocacy organizations like the American Heart Association and AARP. We’ve focused on outcomes and data from day one, demonstrating ROI and utilization rates that far exceed traditional EAPs or wellness programs.

By aligning incentives across the ecosystem—patients, payers, and providers—we’ve built a scalable model that works for everyone involved. And perhaps most importantly, we’ve stayed close to the people we serve, evolving the platform based on real feedback from users and partners.

Looking ahead, what are your goals for the future of your company?
Build something that solves a real problem—and stay relentlessly focused on the people you’re helping. It’s easy to get caught up in metrics, funding, or features, but success comes from empathy and execution.

In healthcare especially, transformation takes patience and persistence. But when you stay grounded in purpose and surround yourself with great people, progress compounds—and the impact is worth every bit of the effort.
