Can you tell us a little about your background before starting at your company?

I grew up in India and completed my undergraduate studies at IIT. Before coming to the United States for my master’s, I was a visiting researcher at the University of Tokyo in Japan.

At the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, my research focused on pricing and decision-making systems, and one of the algorithms we built went on to power pricing engines for airlines. That was my first real exposure to entrepreneurship: seeing research move from a lab into a real commercial product.

After that, I led machine learning and AI research at Deepair and later worked across product, machine learning, and design at FLYR and Engine Inc, building AI systems in collaboration with university labs and industry partners. My work has always sat at the intersection of AI, product, and real-world workflows, which eventually shaped how I think about hiring and the future of work.

How did you start at your company? What were the first steps you took to get it off the ground and how did you identify the need for your product/service in the market?

casuro.ai started from a problem I kept seeing in hiring. Candidates now use AI to apply faster, polish resumes, and generate answers, while hiring teams are spending more time and money trying to filter through the noise. It has become an AI-versus-AI problem.

I do not believe AI should replace interviews or remove human connection from hiring. The real opportunity is to use AI to reduce the time and effort it takes for a qualified candidate to actually meet the hiring team.

The first step was to rethink assessments from the ground up. Instead of banning AI, what if we allowed candidates to use AI the way they would on the job and measured the quality of their thinking, execution, communication, and judgment? That became the foundation for casuro.ai: a platform where candidates can pitch how they work, show how they use AI, and give hiring teams better signal much earlier in the process.

What innovations or unique features set your company apart from others in the industry?

casuro.ai is built for a world where AI is part of the job, not something candidates need to hide.

We are proud to be the world’s leading voice AI career page provider, encouraging candidates to speak while applying for a job. Instead of reducing candidates to resumes and keyword matches, we give them a more human way to introduce themselves, communicate their strengths, and show how they think.

Our assessments are designed to incentivize responsible AI usage through an AI budget, so companies can see not just what candidates produce, but how they use AI to get there. We also use AI scouts to launch hundreds of agents that research roles, companies, and hiring needs so teams are better prepared even before the hiring process begins.

We are also building deeply within the HR tech ecosystem, with partnerships and integrations across leading platforms and technology providers such as Agora, Thymia, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, and Teamtailor.

What has been the most effective strategy for scaling your business?

The most effective strategy so far has been staying very close to customers and building around real hiring pain points. Instead of selling a generic AI tool, we focus on specific workflows where hiring teams feel the most friction: screening, assessments, interviews, and time-to-first-human-interaction.

Partnerships with ATS and HR tech ecosystems are also a big part of our strategy because we want casuro.ai to fit naturally into the tools hiring teams already use.

We are especially well-positioned for SMBs that want to hire AI-enabled talent but do not have large recruiting teams or complex hiring infrastructure. casuro.ai helps them identify candidates who can think clearly, communicate well, and use AI effectively in real work settings.

Looking ahead, what are your goals for the future of your company?

Looking ahead, our goal is to make hiring more human, not less. We want casuro.ai to become the platform where candidates can genuinely showcase their ability and where companies can make faster, fairer, and more informed hiring decisions.

We are building a talent management harness that connects assessments, interviews, job boards, and candidate experience into one seamless workflow. The future of hiring will not be about filtering more resumes faster. It will be about creating better ways for people to show what they can actually do.
