The Launch List: Big Ideas from Abroad

Today we’re looking at French agentic AI startup H Company, which launched in 2024.

Since then, it’s raised €200 million with LVMH, Amazon, and Eric Schmidt investing in the company. Why so much? First, the French. France has long been an innovator in all things web (they launched the Minitel in 1982), but the nation has never had a Google, a Facebook, or an OpenAI to match its OG innovator status. H Company is hoping to change that by blending high-accuracy agentic operations (the company claims its agents exceed 92% task completion accuracy and cost 5.5x less with respect to resource use).

What We Think:

Of the three components—Runner H, Surfer H, and Tester H—the latter may be the most buzzworthy. The company states that Test H converts natural language directives into automated test executions – meaning it can act like a scrum master or a clever product manager throughout a software development life cycle. Of course—how well Runner, Surfer, and Tester H scale over time will depend on its ability to maintain the accuracy the company claims while providing composable features that enterprise users – especially those in highly regulated industries – crave. Vibe coding – and vibe copying—is a thing, so H Company will need to not only be first and best but also build a powerful narrative that shows its potential and its “right now” value.
